Tooth Bonding

Serving Myrtle Beach, Conway, and North Myrtle Beach areas of South Carolina

Tooth bonding is a procedure in which tooth colored composite resin is applied to teeth to solve fairly straightforward dental issues. It can be used to:

  • Fill cavities
  • Protect tooth roots from exposure due to receding gums
  • Reshape teeth
  • Close gaps between teeth
  • Repair chipped or cracked teeth
  • Whiten severely stained or discolored teeth

This quick, painless, noninvasive procedure is utilized by the Conway tooth bonding dentists at Carolina Center for Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry to restore strength, function, and beauty to your teeth.

Tooth Bonding Procedure

Tooth bonding is done during a single office visit, and generally takes less than one hour. One of our experienced cosmetic dentists will first take time to carefully match the color of the composite resin to adjacent teeth to provide natural looking results. Next, the surface of your tooth will be roughed to provide a texture to which the resin can adhere, and the putty-like resin will be applied to your teeth.

Our dentists take great care in sculpting and molding this resin to precisely match your adjacent teeth before applying a blue wavelength LED light to harden the material. After your tooth bonding is hardened, we will trim and polish the resin to provide you with seamless and superior aesthetic end result.

Benefits of Tooth Bonding

Tooth bonding can be used as a cosmetic alternative to dental crowns and porcelain veneers, but is most often reserved for minor cosmetic imperfections and on teeth that require low bite pressure. In addition, tooth bonding requires very little preparation to the tooth, and leaves more of your existing tooth enamel in place making it an ideal choice for patients who desire a fast, noninvasive procedure for repairing cosmetic imperfections.

The dentists at Carolina Center for Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry treat each smile individually, and will work closely with you to determine if tooth bonding is the appropriate solution for your unique needs.
