Hygiene

Myrtle Beach Sedation Dentistry

Preventative care is an integral part of our practice. Maintaining good oral hygiene is one of the most important things you can do for your teeth and gums. Healthy teeth not only enable you to look and feel good, they make it possible to eat and speak properly. Good oral health is important to your overall well-being. Promoting health through preventative dentistry and educating our patients on good oral hygiene is the heart of our practice. Thorough examinations and professional cleanings allow us to identify problem areas and stop periodontal disease.

TMJ Treatment

Do you grind your teeth? Suffer from frequent headaches? Neck, shoulder, and back pain? Neuromuscular dentistry can help!

If you regularly suffer from symptoms such as migraines, jaw pain, sinus problems, earaches, ringing in the ears, dizziness or teeth grinding and clenching, neuromuscular dentistry could very likely put an end to your pain. Our team is trained in neuromuscular technology and can determine the exact cause and nature of the problem to determine the proper course of treatment. Please call our office to set up your personal consultation and to get more information on neuromuscular dentistry.

Sedation Dentistry

There are a variety of reasons that keep people from the dentist:

  • Excessive fears about dental appointments
  • Difficulty getting numb
  • Hate needles and shots
  • Hate the noises and smells associated with the dental office
  • A strong gag reflex
  • Highly sensitive teeth
  • Complex dental problems that will take several appointments to complete

Safe, effective sedation dentistry for complete relaxation during dental procedures may be the solution. Ask your dentist about it today.

Implants

Today's dental implants are changing the way people live! With implants, people are rediscovering the comfort and confidence to smile, eat, speak, laugh and enjoy life. Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel and function like natural teeth. A person with implants regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours have been preserved. Implants consist of small titanium posts which are placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. In addition to restoring a natural appearance in the mouth, implants can help preserve facial structure, preventing bone deterioration, which typically occurs when teeth are missing.

Mini Implants

Typically, traditional dental implants must be allowed to heal for 3 to 6 months or more before they are used to support new teeth. With careful planning we can often replace a single tooth, several teeth, upper or lower teeth, or a full mouth of teeth with remarkable comfort, predictability and aesthetics in a very short time. With only a few exceptions, patients seeking a quick, "permanent" solution can be accommodated. You can come into the office missing one tooth or all of your teeth and leave our office with a completely new set of teeth that are firmly anchored .... not dentures or removable temporaries.

Mini Implants most dramatically benefits patients whose teeth are unsightly and loose, but because of fear, lack of time or limited treatment options until now, they have neglected dental treatment. Here at the Carolina Center for Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry, in one visit those patients can have decay and the accompanying bacteria removed form their mouths and leave with an attractive, new smile. Other candidates include patients who have suffered bone loss from periodontal disease, those who struggle with loose fitting dentures and patients with missing teeth who want a complete dentition.

Waterlase

Conway SC Full Mouth Rehabilitation

You deserve the most advanced dentistry available for your comfort and ease – laser dentistry. The Waterlase combines laser energy with a spray of water to comfortably perform a range of dental procedures on teeth, gum and bone. The Waterlase is used in all aspects of dentistry: preventive care, restorative care and cosmetic enhancements. Requiring fewer shots and less anesthesia and replacing the drill in many cases, lasers greatly improve comfort, reduce anxiety and enhance preventive care.

Non-metal Fillings

Metal fillings are obsolete. Amalgams expand and contract when exposed to temperature changes. This movement weakens the tooth wall and can cause fractures. It also allows bacteria to enter and cause decay. Amalgam also contains mercury, a toxic element. Today’s tooth-colored composites are safer, stronger and more attractive than metal. Composites are more conservative restorations than metal, bonding directly to the tooth, requiring far less drilling of healthy tooth structure.
